This pillowcover has cables on the front of the pillow formed by making a chain then working hdc stitches back up the chain. It’s a beautiful look that compliments any yarn.
14" and 16" square pillowcover Where directions differ for 16" pillow they are listed in parenthesis ( ).
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn: Approx. 10 oz. variegated Sugar 'N
Cream or 8 - 9 oz. Redheart worsted
Size H crochet hook
Gauge: 3 dc = 1"
Note: This is not a loose stitch. If you tend to crochet loose you may have to go down to a G hook for gauge.
Cable: Chain 5, sl st into front of dc crochet two rows below, turn, hdc into each chain. Do not skip the dc stitch behind the cable just made when continuing across the row. Count the stitch just behind your cable as the next stitch. Helpful hint: If you find it too difficult to work the hdc into each chain stitch, just work them around the chain loop. It will still look nice and form a curling cable.
